MODULE 3: CREATING LEADS AND NETWORKING
Creating Leads and Networking
Networking is the single most effective technique for developing job leads. Even if you realize the importance of networking, it can seem difficult to do at all and impossible to do well. We will take you through a step-by-step process of how to network effectively! We will also address alternative ways of finding a job, including online job boards, working with recruiters, and other approaches.
We’ll show you how to create leads, conduct research using online social media tools such as LinkedIn, and engage in networking that works for you. Most of all, we’ll help you learn how to make networking fun and how to continue to do it after you’ve landed your next job.
Learning Objectives for Module 3: Creating Leads & Networking
1. Develop your own pipeline of career opportunities
2. Use fast and slow networking in support of your career management goals

Parking Guidelines: As visitors attend SJN meetings at Temple Chai, we need to be aware that there is very limited parking on the temple grounds. It is recommended that SJN event attendees plan to park on the streets: Marilyn or Acoma. The spaces available at the temple are on the Marilyn Road side of the complex. Any ”reserved” spots need to be left available for staff. No parking spaces are available in the back of the complex. When entering from Marilyn Road, approach the property from the eastern most driveways at the “Temple Chai Entrance” sign, and then exit onto Acoma. Follow painted arrows for traffic flow direction. Keep the speed low and watch for pedestrians, including school children, crossing the parking lot. Thank you!
